Job Details Full-timeEstimated: $63,000 – $84,000 a year3 hours ago Qualifications – Driver’s License – Communication skills – Bachelor’s degree – Master’s degree Full Job Description Summary and Scope of Position: The Associate Director (AD) of Admission plays a key leadership role in the enrollment goals of Ursinus College, as well as maintaining the academic profile and fiscal health of the college. As a crucial member of the Office of Admission, the AD acts as a significant support for the Director of Admission, as well as other members of the Admission team, through strategically implementing a highly efficient, team-based enrollment model. Utilizing best practices, sound professional judgement and strategy development, the AD will lead recruitment efforts in an assigned recruitment territory, will be the lead on all enrollment events, oversee counselor relations and will fully invest in meeting the established enrollment goals of the college. Specific Responsibilities: In consultation with the Director of Admission, develops and implements all admission-related events Oversees the entirety of the admission visitor experience, including in-person and virtual visit experiences. This includes, but is not limited to: daily visits, overnight visits, open houses, academic experience days and yield events for prospective families Oversees all aspects of an established and effective High School Counselor Relations program, including the execution of the fall fly-in event and spring local counselor program as well as the implementation of a strategic communications and engagement outreach plan Meets established enrollment goals for an assigned, targeted recruitment territory Performs all duties of a full member of the counseling staff, including management of an assigned territory, representing the College to prospective students, families, and counselors via recruitment travel, file review, presentations, and prospective student interviews Develops and maintains relationships with prospective students and their families through frequent telephone, email, written and in – person contact Through collaboration with other departmental staff, plan and formulate strategies to attract qualified and interested students to Ursinus College Participates in extensive travel within the assigned recruitment territory, in new growth markets, and in other areas as needed, which includes: high school visits; college fairs (both in and out of state); specialty recruitment tours; and attendance at special programs hosted by Community-Based Organizations and Partner Programs. Travel can range from 8-12 weeks annually Collaborates with Student Financial Services, as well as other campus offices, to provide information necessary for conversion and yield of prospective students In coordination with the Director of Admission designs, organizes and implements a comprehensive training program for the entirety of the admission staff In coordination with the Director of Enrollment Analytics, produces and analyzes regular reports for the Director of Admission on quantitative metrics related to visits, applicant and territory trends, and travel efficiency, as well as qualitative metrics such as visitor experience assessed through survey instruments Oversight and administration of all aspects of the Senior Admission Fellows program including but not limited to hiring, supervising, and administration of the program Extremely frequent evening and weekend work required Qualifications: A proactive and nimble approach to evolving environments in events and project management, collaborative campus partnerships, and higher education trends is needed for successful outcomes. In ition, the AD should possess the following qualities: Bachelor’s Degree, with 3+ years of progressively responsible admission experience, preferably at a regionally accredited, liberal arts institution An in-depth knowledge of, and passion for, the liberal arts The character to embody the mission of the institution as a College That Changes Lives, both personally and professionally A celebration of diversity, both in the workplace and in student population The cultural competency needed to honorably and prominently promote diversity in all its forms A high proficiency in multi-tasking as well as strategic thinking Excellent written and oral communication skills Exemplary communication skills and a collaborative, transparent approach to problem-solving A desire to play a significant role in the mentorship and guidance of staff A desire to join and foster a dynamic, transformative campus culture A collaborative and transparent approach to problem-solving A valid driver’s license and the ability to participate in travel which can range from 8-12 weeks annually Experience with data and reporting, and a desire to provide enrollment research support Ability and willingness to work night and weekend hours as needed Ability to stand in one place for significant amounts of time and ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree and/or 5+ years of admission experience at a regionally accredited, liberal arts institution Experience with data and reporting, and a desire to provide enrollment research support In-depth knowledge of Slate CRM and Colleague SIS Other Duties: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual(s) assigned to this position.
