Associate Insstructor – Computer Information Technology
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology – Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Computer Information Technology Instructor for the Clarksville Campus.
Technical diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education with credentials in related field. Associate degree preferred.
Minimum of three years of experience in the Computer Information Technology field within the last five years.
Must possess a high degree of knowledge in network administration, PC hardware, systems analysis and software.
Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.
CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ certifications and Microsoft certifications preferred.
Prior teaching or evidence of ability to teach students is a plus.
Must show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude.
Must be willing to remain current in the field.
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with students, faculty, staff, the general public and business/industry representatives.
GENERAL DUTIES: The Computer Information Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for providing individualized theory and hands-on instruction to adult and high school students to prepare them for employment in the field. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting, system architecture and protocols, software applications, programming, hardware assembly and repair, backup strategies, networking and configuring computers and related peripheral devices. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the college’s student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports, and assist in recruiting new students. This position must also maintain good public relations with business and industry; maintain an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. This position is full-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Coordinator. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
SALARY: Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
