As a leading Organization in the Maintenance of Pennsylvania’s Highways, the Department of Transportation, Bedford County Maintenance Organization, is seeking to fill one full-time Highway Foreman 2 position to supervise the work of a general highway maintenance crew during Winter Maintenance and Summer Maintenance seasons. Summer work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
Spring & Fall work schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am -3:30 pm
4:00 am – 12:00 pm (Overtime responsibility 12:00 am – 12:00 pm, 7 days a weeks including holidays if needed), or
12:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Overtime responsibility 12:00 pm – 12:00 am, 7 days a weeks including holidays if needed).
*Note: Starting wage is $20.00 per hour and is non-negotiable. There are opportunities for overtime and shift differential.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Highway Foreman 2, you’ll supervise the winter and summer maintenance and repair of roadways, shoulders, and drainage facilities, in accordance with department procedures. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1; or
- Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
