Coors Distributing Company (CDC) is one of the nation’s leading beer distributors based out of Denver, CO. We are the critical link between our brewery suppliers that produce the beer and the retail outlets where they are sold, as well as the restaurants and bars where they are consumed. We were founded in 1971 and became a MillerCoors LLC in 2008 as part of the joint venture between Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company, and we remain the only company owned distributor for Molson Coors Beverage Company. Major brand acquisitions occurred in January of 2010 making Coors Distributing Company one of the top 25 largest beer distributors in the country with over 30 suppliers, roughly 14 million cases per year, and nearly 400 employees.
The Headlines:
In the role of Key Account Manager in Denver, CO you will be a part of the Sales department at CDC. This person is primarily responsible for using syndicated, external & internal sales data to develop and disseminate regular reports to the Sales, Marketing, and CDC management team to analyze business trends to advance CDC’s market objectives. This position provides support to stakeholders such as CDC management and external partners (such as small chain C-Stores). In addition, execution will be required for mandates with Chains, and serving as a liaison with headquarters; they will be responsible for supporting accounts such as Costco, Target, and C-chain stores.
This position reports to the Senior Sales Manager and collaborates with the sales teams, marketing team, and external suppliers.
The Responsibilities:
- Managing the business relationships between Suppliers, Buyers, Chains, CDC, and serving as a representative for smaller-scale brands
- Serving as focal contact for corporate calls and delivering results from KPIs; serving as the liaison between CDC and headquarter offices of accounts
- Managing communication channels, approaches, and strategies conducive to market growth and development
- Owning the growth strategy of volume, distribution, space management, program implementation, and development opportunities for retail stakeholders
- Analyzing internal and syndicated sales data to measure CDC’s performance against internal plans and supplier goals, identify opportunities/threats, and provide insight into root causes of identified issues
- Developing scorecards to track performance against KPI’s, and providing regular progress updates against long term goals
- Performing ROI Analysis and pricing analysis Performing Pricing Analysis
- Identifying training needs for data, systems, and procedures that support CDC’s selling activities then providing education with data interpretation into actionable trainings/tasks
- Providing education with brands to buyers, and also education from chain buyers to the salesforce
- Leading and and supporting internal and external planning meetings (distribution and volume planning, profitability/pricing, budgets, etc.)
- Assisting Brand Managers and the sales force with analysis needed to develop presentations that incorporate compelling sales data and insights
- Assisting in tracking and facilitating key sales initiatives including new product launches, incentive programs, and sales force goal setting and recapping
- Other duties as assigned
The Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
- 5 to 7 years in Chain/Retail leadership role
- Proficiency with creating and implementing processes
- Proficiency with creative programming and ability to effectively present recommendations
- Strong presentation and influencing skills
- High level of personal accountability/results orientation
- Business analysis experience within a CPG or beer company strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel & PowerPoint)
