MRI DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a PART-TIME DAYS, 36 HOURS/WEEKLY, MRI TECHNOLOGIST. Under the direction of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI examinations) accurately, independently, and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets up exam rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready, inventories supplies and linens, restocks rooms as needed, and cleans and tidies exam rooms
- Using a professional, ethical, and caring demeanor, prepares and informs patients of exam procedure
- Transfers and positions patient safely and properly for examination
- Independently performs assigned exams and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards. Demonstrates ability to perform the entire variety of technical procedures expected of an MRI Technologist
- Produces technically acceptable MRI exams in accordance with departmental procedures. Selects proper technical factors. Reviews and evaluates MRI images to determine that they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes
- Provides Radiologists with the requested information for each exam; assists Radiologists with problem-solving
- Operates, troubleshoots, maintains equipment
- Uses RIS/PACS effectively to input/order/edit/cancel exams
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Satisfactory completion of formal specific training in an AMA-approved Radiology Technology program
- Satisfactory completion of a formal cross-sectional anatomy class and a formal MRI instrumentation class (within 2 years of hire)
- Requires certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R). or
board eligible graduate from an accredited institution. Certification required within 3 months of hire
- Advanced registry in the modality within 12 months of hire date
- Requires licensure with the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist within 3 months of hire
- Requires CPR or BLS, must obtain within 90 days of hire
- Requires 24 CME credits every two years
DESIRED
- Minimum of one year radiology experience, preferably in an acute care hospital environment
- Prior MRI experience
