The 22nd Judicial District, comprising counties and , is hiring for their Technical Support position (Information Technology Specialist 2). This position provides technical support as part of the Eastern Oregon Courts region, which includes, in addition to the courts in Crook and Jefferson counties, the circuit courts found in Malheur, Grant, Harney, Baker, Union, Wallowa, Umatilla, and Morrow counties.
As Technical Support…
You will travel between Madras in Jefferson County and Prineville in Crook County to provide technical expertise for each court. You may also occasionally provide back-up support for other eastern Oregon counties either by travelling in person or by remote means. You will be responsible for resolving technically complex problems and serving as a liaison to the Enterprise Services Technology Division (ETSD) for user support. You will respond to staff requests for assistance. This includes but is not limited to: diagnosing and resolving user problems as well as planning, upgrading, installing and configuring software, workstations, servers, printers, telecommunications and other equipment.
Project management and training will be part of your duties. You will also participate in major projects involving planning and implementation of workstation and courtroom upgrades including desktop computers, sound and video equipment. You will train local court and external agency users in the operation of computers, printers and in the use of application software. You are expected to develop, procure, and maintain documents, training materials and other user aids.
Lastly, you will be responsible for systems maintenance and maintaining local website and website documents. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

This is a full-time position, and the work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked more than 40 per work week.
Occasional after-hours, overtime, or weekend work may be required.
Frequent travel between both worksites located in Jefferson and Crook Counties and occasional travel to other eastern Oregon circuit courts that are part of the Eastern Oregon Courts region.
Travel in inclement weather may be required.
Daily work with equipment in conditions which may be crowded, noisy and above or below normal room temperatures.
Daily installation of equipment requiring lifting and moving heavy objects, including computer components and furniture, working with and pulling cable, crawling under or around furniture, climbing ladders, etc.
Daily use of equipment, including telephone with optional headset and OJD-issued computer.
Frequent phone and in-person contact with judges, judicial staff, and people from diverse backgrounds who may be confused or frustrated.
Frequent long periods of sitting and/or standing.
The qualified candidate must have at least (1) one year of increasingly responsible technical experience working with computer systems.
Possess a bachelor’s degree in management, business or public administration, computer science, IT, or a closely related field.
Any combination of to four (4) years that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
You must have a current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record to qualify for this position.
Requested Skills and Attributes
Skill working with and troubleshooting a wide variety of computer applications and processes (e.g. Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, SharePoint, Teams, WebEx, For the Record, databases, and Apple IOS).
Experience providing customer service both in-person and via telephone, virtual meetings, or email explaining technical issues clearly and logically in plain language.
Experience providing professional IT support services to a variety of skill levels for end-users across multiple locations.
Experience installing computer components and other related equipment.
