The Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Office Assistant with primary responsibilities of providing excellent customer service to the public, and efficient and high quality support services mainly in the food safety program. This is responsible professional work performing moderately complex support duties including helping the public on the phone and in person; working in a complex database system and with Word and Excel; processing permits, payments, and billings; coordinating training events; taking meeting minutes; and running routine electronic reports. Work with and provide support to a team of ten professional and technical staff engaged in education, consultation, and inspection focused on protecting and promoting the public health. Bilingual individuals are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and at least 6 months experience in an office setting; or equivalent.
To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.
To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
